The Selfish Luxury Traveler is a boutique travel brand designing bespoke retreats and travel experiences for Black women aged 50 and over. Our experiences are rooted in rest, reconnection, culture, and joy, with a focus on luxury, sisterhood, and intentional living.
We believe being “selfish” is not a bad word—it’s a necessity. For years, many of us have prioritized everyone else. This is your time to put yourself first, unapologetically. We offer travel that allows you to rest, reflect, and recharge in beautiful destinations that honor your soul.

Our experiences are not mass-produced group tours. We design intimate, culturally rich, and luxurious getaways with a focus on self-care, slow travel, and Black joy. We partner with Black-owned businesses whenever possible and elevate underrepresented destinations.
We work with a very small number of select clients to help plan both private group retreats and custom travel planning services with a minimum of six (6) guests. Whether you're celebrating a milestone, or planning a woman's trip—we can help you design meaningful journeys.
Absolutely. We provide step-by-step guidance, packing tips, visa advice, and ensure you are fully prepared to enjoy your first international experience with us. You’re never alone Sis—we’ve got you.
Each retreat is thoughtfully and intentionally designed with you in mind. Retreats include luxury accommodations, immersive cultural experiences, wellness moments, and space to breathe. No packed schedules. Just meaningful connection and curated luxury.
We intentionally choose destinations that are safe, culturally enriching, and welcoming to Black women. Think Portugal, Bali, Napa Valley, Italy, and other domestic and international destinations rooted in beauty and ease—with representation that feels good.
Yes. Our retreats include plant-based options, spa and wellness offerings, and mindfulness experiences. Whether it’s yoga, a winery lunch, or journaling by the sea—your wellness is built into our journeys.
Yes. We require all retreat participants to carry comprehensive travel insurance to protect their investment and well-being. We can assist you in accessing trusted providers who understand luxury and group travel needs.
Our retreats will sell out quickly due to limited space (8–15 guests max). We recommend booking as soon as registration opens, with a non-refundable deposit to secure your spot. Flexible payment plans and financing options are available.

Each retreat includes luxury accommodations, curated experiences, cultural excursions, select meals, wellness activities, transportation and a few surprise touches. A full breakdown of what’s included and what's not included is provided with each retreat listing.
Due to contractual agreements and limited group sizes, all deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. We highly recommend travel insurance for added protection. See our Terms & Conditions.

Yes! All retreats offer installment plans after your deposit is made. You’ll receive a payment schedule at registration. Paying in full early is also welcomed.
From time to time, we may offer early bird pricing or loyalty discounts for returning travelers. Be sure to join our email list to be the first to hear about special offers.
You’ll need a valid passport (with at least 6 months remaining past your return date). Visa and vaccination requirements vary by country, and we provide detailed pre-departure guidance for each retreat.
Currently, COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but we follow the latest travel advisories, health protocols, and destination requirements. If anything changes, we’ll communicate that well in advance.
Yes. We provide complimentary ground transportation to/from the designated airport on the main retreat arrival and departure dates. If you’re arriving early or extending your stay, we can assist with private transfers at an additional cost.
Absolutely! Many of our travelers choose to arrive early or extend their stay. We’re happy to assist with recommendations or extra nights at the host hotel, based on availability.
You’ll receive a Welcome Packet after registering and regular updates as we approach departure. A Final Retreat Guide will be sent 6-8 weeks before your retreat with everything you need to prepare.
Each retreat has a customized packing list based on the destination, weather, and planned experiences. Think chic, comfortable, and camera-ready! We always recommend layers and at least one outfit that makes you feel absolutely radiant.
We believe in balance, not burnout. Our retreats include scheduled activities and curated experiences but also build in free time for you to relax, journal, explore, or simply do nothing at all.
We work exclusively with top-tier luxury properties that reflect the values and ambiance of The Selfish Luxury Traveler experience. For privacy, group protection, and contractual reasons, we do not share hotel names publicly at this time. Rest assured, all accommodations are 5-star luxury properties, hand-selected for their exceptional service, spa and wellness offerings, and ideal locations. Full hotel details will be provided to confirmed guests as part of your Welcome Package after booking.
