Sailing along the West African coast on a Hurtigruten cruise was a journey I’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived in Senegal, I was immersed in the region’s rich cultural heritage. Standing on Goree Island, I felt the weight of history at the House of Slaves, a somber reminder of the transatlantic slave trade.
Visiting Kunte Kinteh's Village in The Gambia deepened my connection to ancestral stories of strength and survival. In Dakar, the African Renaissance Monument stood tall—a symbol of resilience and hope. Cape Verde's vibrant spirit added a beautiful contrast. This journey was emotional, eye-opening, and unforgettable.
